“Zodiac” attracts inspiration from the chilling tale of the Zodiac Killer, the notorious and unidentified legal who terrorized the US within the Nineteen Sixties. The monitor revisits and expands upon issues from “Arcanum,” a standout from the band’s 2019 debut album, Finish’evour.
Drummer and lyricist Gilson Naspolini explains:
“Zodiac gives a glimpse into the killer’s darkish, introspective psyche whilst weaving a lyrical thread again to ‘Arcanum.’ Diego Bittencourt’s unique composition didn’t to begin with focal point in this theme, however I reimagined it to create a continuing connection—each melodically and narratively. This monitor captures the essence of ‘Arcanum’s’ enigmatic air of mystery whilst introducing a harrowing, sinister storyline.”

Since their formation in 2018, As The Palaces Burn has cemented their position in Brazil’s thriving steel group. Their discography comprises the 2019 debut album Finish’evour, the 2020 EP All The Evil (that includes a canopy of Savatage’s “Corridor of the Mountain King”), and the 2022 EP Be offering to the Gods, which paid homage to Brazilian steel legends Angra, Dr. Sin, and Sepultura. Their 2023 unmarried “Into Feelings” served as a prelude to the severely acclaimed full-length album Drowning Into Shadows.
