Chemical Hurricane is an old-school thrash steel band from Kent. It’s been six years since their remaining album, however they haven’t been idle; throughout this time, they’ve seen society’s expanding reliance and obsession with cell and digital gadgets, which galvanized the topics in their new songs.
The EP kicks off with the monstrous chugfest of ‘God Forbid’, handing over a great slice of rabid 80s thrash, pushed by means of Kev ‘Kevlar’ Hudson’s pounding drums. ‘Shallow Hollow’ follows as a raw-boned beast, propelled by means of a fast rhythm and savage riffery from guitarists Dave Austin and Joe Davis. ‘Blunt Drive Drama’ begins with a tribal drum development, Tom ‘Pidge’ Lane’s growling bass putting in the heavy riff, complemented by means of superb leads from Austin and a confrontational vocal efficiency from singer Liam ‘Large Lez’ Underdown.
