“‘ThumpeRRR’ is built and inspired by the Dune universe. It opens immediately with a fast, driving tempo and hard-rock–leaning riffs maintained as a bird’s eye shot above the desert planet. Intertwined vocals appear throughout and generate a call-and-response effect, dueling in overlap with the narrations. Midway, everything drops into a suspended section where distant guitars manifest in the silence of the desert. The thumper is placed: rhythm, sand, quakes. As the tension builds up, synths and a pulsing choir let the song coil tighter and tighter, gradually layering back in until the ending peaks with the inevitable rise of the sandworm: sacred, ancient, colossal, unstoppable.”
