Fu Manchu’s earlier album, 2018’s Clone Of The Universe, was once an excessively cinematic go back and forth, lurching violently from a fistful of two-minute stoner-punk ragers right into a 20-minute couch-of-woe area oddity. It was once a great distance from the desolate tract rock band’s salad days of skate-ready jams about vehicles and bizarre beards.
New album The Go back Of The following day takes us additional into the weeds (pun meant). The primary part is all crushingly heavy dope-rock jams in a burly, Monster Magnet-meets-Seize sorta manner, filled with menacing riffage and crazed soloing.
It’s the heaviest shit Fu Manchu have ever finished, and it’s incredible. The second one part is a slight go back to their 90s heyday, with more straightforward tempos and mellow(ish) vibes.
Like Clone, The Go back is supposed to be unspooled so as, a adventure to the centre of your thoughts care of stoner rock’s undisputed kings of the street. I like to recommend you apply their orders. I’ve been levitating for 3 days now.
