Porcupine Tree/King Pink/The Pineapple Thief drummer Gavin Harrison has once more teamed up with Canadian-born UK-based jazz fusion bassist Antoine Fafard for a 2d album of revolutionary fusion.
Perpetual Mutations will probably be launched through the pair on July 26 thru Amplified Distribution in the United States and Code 7 in the United Kingdom. It follows on from the duo’s 2020 unlock, Chemical Reactions.
“Because it used to be within the first effort, all of the track in this album is solely carried out and excludes any programmed tools,” the pair say. “The joint instrumental musical effort used to be put along side the transparent aim of no longer repeating the very same sonic textures featured within the first album and stay in search of other and authentic musical chances. As an example, Perpetual Mutations introduces classical guitar and piano, tools absent within the 2020 album.”
Along Harrison and Fafard, the album options soprano saxophonist Jean-Pierre Zanella, cellists Joasia Cieslak and Isodora Filipovic, violinist Best friend Storch and Dale Devoe – an alumni from the Stan Kenton Orchestra – on brass.
