The Exhausting Quartet, a brand new US indie-rock supergroup that includes Stephen Malkmus (Pavement), Emmett Kelly (The Cairo Gang, The Double), Matt Sweeney (Zwan, Chavez) and Jim White (The Grimy 3), have shared the video for his or her debut unmarried Earth Eater, and introduced their first reside dates.
The band declare to have “levelled, cultivated, and made lush a completely new steppe within the ecosystem of guitar-bass-drums-voice agriculture”. Which is sweet.
Chatting with GQ, Matt Sweeney describes the entertainingly surreal claymation video for Earth Eater as a “absolutely bent public carrier announcement.”

The quartet can be traveling widely in 2025.
Talking about their long run plans, Stephen Malkmus tells GQ, “There’s a number of occasions that [bands] are available in with luster and issues simply wither. However I don’t see that taking place. If we’re digging it then it continues and blossoms.”
In the meantime, there is a new movie about Malkmus’ primary band, Pavement, incoming.
Directed via Alex Ross Perry, who directed Ghost’s vastly a success Ceremony Right here Ceremony Now movie, Pavements is described as a prismatic, narrative, scripted, documentary, musical, metatextual hybrid.
