Pixies have launched a brand new AA-side unmarried, You’re So Impatient / Que Sera, Sera.
The band’s first new track since 2022’s Doggerel album, and their first releases to characteristic bassist Emma Richardson (Band Of Skulls), the only is described as “a macabre and cinematic image of American popular culture.”
You’re So Impatient is a punky depiction of a zombie assault on the mall, whilst Que Sera, Sera is a dismal, folksy quilt of Fifties usual Que Sera, Sera, at the beginning recorded because the soundtrack for US TV display From.
Talking about You’re So Impatient, vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Black Francis says, “You’re So Impatient is a fairly comedic suburban tradition second: there’s this man, there’s this gal, there’s this tug-of-love dynamic occurring. However the backdrop is the mall. And whilst the mall is crass, it’s additionally an excessively zombie, rock ‘n’ roll horror film atmosphere.”
