Brian “Head” Welch defined why Korn began taking part in seven string guitars, and the response that considered one of their heroes needed to it.
The guitarist mentioned his influences all over a dialog with WSOU 89.5 FM. He recalled that the “heaviest” tune when he used to be rising up used to be punk, which used to be too simple for him to be told at the guitar, and the “darkest” used to be teams equivalent to Dio and Judas Priest.
As a guitar pupil, Head used to be eager about who he thought to be “the greats” — Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch and Warren DeMartini. James “Munky” Shaffer, however, used to be extra captivated via Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, in keeping with Head.

Steve Vai’s Response to Korn
