After 3 severely acclaimed albums, Bordeaux-based indie rock act Farewell, led by means of Jean-Baptiste Calluaud, has launched their fourth opus, Banjo Rainbow. The album, which dropped on November 28, 2024, marks every other formidable step within the band’s evolution, providing ten brand-new tracks that blur the traces between love, insanity, and the uncooked violence of emotion.
For lovers of Gadget of a Down, Norma Jean, and Placebo, Banjo Rainbow gifts a visceral and thought-provoking listening revel in. The album was once recorded at Hesat Recordings studio, the place Jean-Baptiste, a former member of the April duo and director of Hesat Recordings and Hesat Campus studio, meticulously crafted this paintings over 3 years.
Becoming a member of the venture are long-time collaborator and drummer Xavier Richard, cellist Quentin Gendrot (aka Qlay), and vocalist Diane Respinger (from Bordeaux teams Minnesota and Molly and Co). Diane lends her skills to a duet on “Wallets” and contributes vocals on “The Houselight Maker.”
The album’s lead unmarried, “Tantrum,” explores the violent depth of emotions and has already made waves with its song video, to be had now on YouTube. Banjo Rainbow additionally options tracks like “Blitzkrieg,” delving into subject matters of dedication and loss of life, and the titular “Banjo Rainbow,” which displays at the skinny line between insanity and love.
