About TESLA
Formed in the mid-1980s, TESLA has solidified their place in rock history with their bluesy sound that draws influence from the greats of 1970s rock. Originally known as City Kidd, the band rebranded to TESLA in honor of the inventive genius Nikola Tesla. Their debut album, Mechanical Resonance, released in 1986, featured hits like “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi,” while their follow-up album, The Great Radio Controversy, released in 1989, went double platinum and included chart-toppers like “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song.”
TESLA’s innovative approach to music was showcased in 1990 with their acoustic album, Five Man Acoustical Jam, which featured their biggest hit, a cover of “Signs.” The band has continued to evolve, producing nine new albums since 2000, including their latest single “All About Love,” available on a special edition collector’s 12” vinyl. They have also been busy celebrating their legacy with successful Record Store Day releases of their limited-edition double LPs, Real 2 Reel Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.
